Case study
Overview
The Reseller Portal was built to give Hydrogen Payments’ reseller partners direct visibility and control over their bill-payment operations. Previously, resellers depended heavily on internal teams for transaction information, wallet funding, and account-related support.
My Role
I worked as the frontend developer responsible for translating business and product requirements into a functional, secure, and responsive client-facing application.
The Challenge
Resellers needed a central platform where they could:
- View their current wallet balance.
- Track transaction values and volumes.
- Search and filter transaction records.
- Monitor bill-payment activity.
- Fund their wallets securely.
- Export transaction data for reporting.
- Quickly identify failed, pending, or successful transactions.
The portal also needed to present financial information clearly while handling API errors, loading states, authentication, permissions, and large transaction datasets.
The Solution
I designed and implemented a dashboard that presents important business metrics, including:
- Wallet balance.
- Total transaction value.
- Total transaction count.
- Recent transaction activity.
I also developed transaction-management features that allow users to filter records by date, status, amount, and service category. The transaction table supports pagination, structured data presentation, and CSV export for reconciliation and reporting.
For wallet management, I implemented a secure top-up workflow that integrates with Hydrogen’s payment gateway. I also added wallet-threshold visibility to help resellers identify when their balance may require funding.
To improve reliability and user experience, I implemented reusable components, validation, API state management, error feedback, loading states, authentication checks, and session-expiry handling.
Outcome
The completed portal provided resellers with a clearer and more independent way to manage their operations. It reduced the need to contact internal support for routine transaction and wallet enquiries, improved visibility into business performance, and created a scalable foundation for additional reseller self-service features.
